Victoria Nguyen
Historian
Victoria Nguyen is a 20-year-old freelance photographer and a Junior at the University of North Texas, where she studies Marketing with a minor in photography. Her work focuses on conceptual portraiture and fashion photography, often incorporating vibrant color schemes and bringing emotions to life. Creative directing is another passion of hers that she incorporates within her photography by styling her own shoots, directing models, and working with her surrounding environments to fit her concepts. Through photography she has been able to see the world with a different eye. Having the ability to bring ideas and concepts to life is what motivates her to continue her photography journey. Her goal is to inspire others and to tell stories with her photographs. She has been a proud officer of the Filipino Student Association for three years and the organization has changed her life in all of the best ways. As Historian, she has learned how to capture candid moments and memories of proud members in the organization. She has also learned to try new things such as different foods, playing intramural sports, and learning some dance moves. Also learning about the Filipino culture has brought together the members as one big family, which was an aspect she was looking to have in her college career. She is also the photography director for Over Magazine, an organization that brings together art students to create a sense of a creative community and work on creating a magazine together. She has had the opportunity to mentor a group of talented students to become the best photographer they can be, as well as encouraging them to pursue their passions.
